Make Every Detail Feel Like Them
Every pet is one of a kind, and their keepsake should be too. From choosing the perfect photo to selecting colors, styles, and meaningful details, we're here to help you create something that truly feels like them. Whether you're celebrating the companion by your side or honoring one forever in your heart, a few thoughtful choices can turn a beautiful gift into a treasured memory.
Choosing the photograph
- Taken at their eye level
Not down at them. A photograph taken looking down shortens the muzzle and changes the whole shape of the face.
- Their eyes visible
If we cannot see the eyes clearly we will ask for another one. Everything else about a portrait follows from the eyes.
- Daylight from the side
Not from behind, and not mixed with an overhead light. Side light is what shows the shape of the head.
- One animal, unless you want more
Up to three share a framed portrait, and two a bag charm; a bracelet or an urn holds one. Choose how many on the product page — each one after the first adds to the price — and send a photograph of each, with its own name. We will tell you honestly whether they all fit.
- At least 800 px on the short side
Bigger is better. Anything under 800 px and we will ask you to resend.
Wording
Shorter is better, every time. A single name set large will be legible in thirty years; three lines of dates and endearments will be a grey band.
If you are unsure, send us what you want to say and we will tell you what will fit. We do this a hundred times a week.
Choosing a frame style
Pick for the room
Not for the animal. The portrait is going to sit somewhere — gold warms a shelf with wood and brass around it; silver and white sit better against cool walls and pale furniture.
Match the shape to the photograph
An oval or a shield suits a head-and-shoulders photograph. A rectangle gives a full-body pose more room.
Baroque for the grand ones
The baroque ovals are our Royal Portrait frames — the right choice for an animal who always knew they were the most important one in the house.
You approve the proof
Nothing is made until you have seen a proof and said yes. If it is not right, tell us what to change and we will do it again — there is no limit on revisions, and no charge for them.

- Upload the required photos and add names or notes for your selected design.
- Add your piece to the bag, review the configuration and proceed to checkout.
- Enter your shipping details, review the total and complete payment. If your piece requires design approval, review the proof on your order page before production.
