About this piece
18k gold vermeil, engraved on the face
We spent four months on the hinge alone. A locket that rattles is a locket you stop wearing.
The locket is stamped from 1 mm sheet, soldered, then engraved on a fibre laser at 0.02 mm — fine enough to hold the shape of a whisker without cutting through the gold.
The back opens. Inside there is room for a lock of fur, a folded note, or nothing at all.

Wear it every day
I have worn this for four months including in the sea and it has not tarnished at all. The engraving is finer than I expected — you can see where her whiskers were.

The hinge
The thing I noticed first is that it does not rattle. Everyone else's lockets rattle. The inside engraving was a late addition and I am glad I paid for it.
