About this piece
A ceramic urn, with their portrait set into the front
A friend lost a lurcher and asked for something she could keep on the shelf rather than in a cupboard. It took us several tries to find an urn we were happy to put her portrait on. That one is still on her mantel.
The portrait is made the same way as our framed portraits: the studio designs it from your photograph, you approve the proof, and it is printed and set into the front of the urn.
Take as long as you need with the proof. We will hold the order open, and nothing is made until you tell us it is right.

Sharper than I expected
The portrait on the front is sharp enough to see his whiskers, and the name is exactly as I spelled it on the proof. On the mantel.

I could not approve it for two weeks
I ordered this four days after we said goodbye and then could not bring myself to look at the proof. Nobody chased me. When I finally opened it, it was right, and it arrived three days later.
